ABOUT US
As a church, our mission is to be relevant to today’s world in order to help people find, follow and lead like Jesus in Chesterfield and beyond. We are a friendly church that love to welcome people from all walks of life and encourage you to simply ‘come as you are’.
We initially started our journey in Chesterfield where our first location was planted over 30 years ago. We are passionate about seeing people reached with the message of Jesus and equipping them to flourish in life.
In 2014 we launched our second campus in Derby, and in 2017 our third campus in Sheffield. In 2020 we merged with the Hub Church and their two campuses in Rotherham and Stocksbridge became IKON Church. Also in 2020 we launched an online campus.
We are part of the Groundlevel Network of Churches.

Every IKON campus carries the same vision, that’s why we love to say ‘we’re one church in many locations’. Our vision is human flourishing, which simply means we want to see people living their best lives. Our mission is ‘building relevant contemporary churches, reaching people with the message of Jesus and empowering them to lead in every sphere of life and influence the world.’ As a church we believe these six values define us; generous, creative, positive, empowering, passionate, united.
SERVICES
We have GOO kids (5-10 years old) available in our 9am, 11am & 6pm services. GOO Tots (1-4 year olds) is available in our 11am service
At IKON Church, we believe that true care happens in community. That’s why IKON Groups are at the heart of who we are. These small groups are where real relationships are built, faith is strengthened, and life is shared.
Whether you’re new to IKON or have been part of our church family for years, IKON Groups are the best way to grow deeper in your relationship with God and with others.
Prayer
Prayer Changes Things. Prayer Works.
Feeling like something’s missing often points to a disconnect from God. Prayer reconnects us, brings perspective, and can transform our lives. At IKON Church, we meet monthly to pray together: Morning Prayer Room on the first Wednesday at 6:30 am for worship, personal prayer, and corporate prayer, and an Evening Prayer Meeting once a month to intercede for our community and beyond. Prayer works—it changes us and the world around us.
Morning Prayer Room
On the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30 am, we gather for one-hour prayer that helps us centre our hearts on God. The Morning Prayer Room includes moments of worship, space for personal prayer and reflection, and times of corporate prayer together. It’s an opportunity to start the day in God’s presence, seeking Him for our lives, our church, and our community.
Evening Prayer Meeting
Once a month on a Thursday at 7:30pm, we gather in the evening with a simple yet powerful desire: “God, we want You here.” This time of corporate prayer is a space to lift our hearts together, pray for our church, community, and the wider world, and seek God’s guidance and presence. Through worship, shared prayer, and intentional focus, we create a moment to pause, listen, and invite God to move in and through us.

Care Packages
Each week at IKON Church Chesterfield, we provide care packages—boxes of essential food items—for individuals and families in need. These packages are made possible through the generous donations of our church community. You can play a part by bringing food with you each week and dropping it in the basket at church, helping us support those facing difficult times in a very practical way.

Uniform Pop-Up Shop
A couple of times each year, we transform our church foyer into a welcoming pop-up shop, offering good quality donated school uniforms. This initiative helps families ease the financial burden of buying new uniforms while ensuring children feel confident and prepared for school. The Uniform Pop-Up Shop is a simple way we can share kindness, dignity, and practical help within our community.

Toy Appeal
Every Christmas, our Toy Appeal ensures that children and families who might otherwise go without have something to open on Christmas morning. Members of IKON Church donate brand new toys, games, and crafts for every child referred through social services, local schools, other agencies, and our own staff team. Thanks to the generosity of our church family, last year we were able to give out over 500 toys, bringing joy and hope to families across Chesterfield.
